Ways to help

There are lots of ways that you can help us:

Vote Now - We are one of the 10 charities shortlisted for this wonderful initiative celebrating Archibald Motors centenary, but we need your vote now.Voting closes at the end of February 2019 and it will only take two minutes of your time. We would also be very grateful if you could share this with your friends, family and work collegues to help us. Just click on the picture above and we are #4 on the list.

Make a donation by clicking here. If you would like to contribute to a particular part of our programme (e.g., the music programme, the computer supported programme, the family support programme), please let us know.

Become a Champion:   Our Champions are those who commit to a regular monthly gift to help us provide unequalled care and support for our children and families. We, in our turn, will share with you through newsletters and through the website the inspiring work to which you will be contributing so vitally. You can become a Champion by setting up a direct deposit and receiving a statement at the end of the financial year (March 31st) for your taxes. To find out more and set up an automatic payment click here.

Alternatively, you can ask your employer to allow you to become a Champion through payroll giving, which returns the tax deductible portion to you immediately.  Payroll Giving is one of the easiest ways of giving to a charity in New Zealand.  With your employer's agreement your donation can be deducted (without it's taxable portion) directly from your salary. To learn more about payroll giving, talk to your payroll department or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information

Contribute to the Champion Foundation Trust: Because our need to add to the government portion of our income is ongoing, the Champion Foundation Trust is building a capital fund, the investment from which generates income for operational funding.  To learn more click here.

Hold a fundraising event: We operate the Champion Centre with a very small administrative staff. Our major fundraising work involves applications to trusts and other funding bodies that can support our work.  We do not have the capacity to organise more than a very few fundraising events each year ourselves.  So, if you or your workplace have the opportunity to identify the Champion Centre as the beneficiary of an event (e.g., a sporting, musical or arts event) then we can provide brochures, banners, information and speakers at the event.

Give-a-little is a local fundraising website:  It has tools to help with fundraising events. You can also make a donation to the Champion Centre directly from the site. Every donation over $5 entitles you to a tax credit.

Purchase a Julie Wylie CD or DVD. If you purchase one from the Champion Centre, Julie donates $5.00 from every sale to the Centre. Click here for a list of CD's available and contact the Champion Centre here for more information OR Phone the office (03)383 6867.

Tell people about the Champion Centre:  Although we have been providing support to families for decades, there are still many people even in Christchurch who do not know what we do.  If you can encourage people to look at the website or to call us for information, then we will increase out visibility and make our fundraising that much easier.
